My background
I won't lie when I tell you I'm not a corporate animal, yet I've worked with corporates for much of my career. I've never felt the need to stomp on others to realise my goals, and found my sweet spot many years ago, as an independent consultant, excelling in doing what I do best: engaging with others, figuring out the 'how' of making things happen, and facilitating collaborative teams, for the purpose of achieving together.
My path has taken me from lawyer-in-training, to business analyst, project and program manager, business consultant, and a sometimes arduous but hugely expansive decade and a half as entrepreneur and business owner, with brief stints in software development and training. As diverse as these roles may seem to be, they've given me a broad base of capabilities at both the strategic and operational ends of 'doing' as well as 'leading'. I'm a mother of two amazing young millenial / Gen Y hybrids who keep me curious and honest, an aspiring artist, enthusiastic mountain biker and trail runner, and lover of nature - particularly the African bush. I'm an advocate of creating positive forward momentum by helping others without expectation - we are, after all, inextricably linked. And I offer counselling for victims of narcissistic abuse. |
